What is a Guardian Home?

A guardian home is a family who gets to keep and enjoy one of our top quality " Pick of the litter" puppies to raise in their home with love and care as their family pet at no upfront cost to them. As a family-run business, we treat all our dogs as part of our family and ensure they live with us inside our home. At Witch Creek Corgis we strongly believe that raising dogs and puppies in a home environment is best for their well-being and happiness. That's why we are proud to offer our guardian home program to approved families, which provides a permanent home for our breeding males or females with a loving family.

While we retain all breeding rights, becoming a guardian home is an excellent opportunity for you to own quality corgi with no upfront cost to you! Once the dog has retired from our program we will give you full ownership and spay or neuter them at our expense.

Our need for Guardian Homes is to ensure we are able to provide the very best for all the dogs in our breeding program. Guardian homes give some of the corgis in our program with their forever homes from the start. Even though we dread the fay retirement comes, in reality, we have to rehome some of our retired corgis to be able to keep our program going. Being a guardian home takes out that step which can be stressful for the dog.

We believe that breeding dogs should be family first and all of ours are. We don't want to have more dogs than we can handle and give daily attention to and love on everyday. Dogs are not meant to live in kennels and that is the way we believe it should be. Becoming a guardian home is a great way to get our pick of the liter at an extremely discounted rate! We will compensate you for every liter your dog produces or you can choose to keep a puppy out of their last litter. You will have a great family pet and we will retain all breeding rights.  Once they are retired from our program we will transfer full ownership to you and have the dog fixed at our expense.

Who qualifies?

We are very selective of who we choose to become a guardian family. Our primary concern is that our dogs go into safe homes where they will be well cared for and loved as a family member. They must be in a home where they are not able to escape or get bred while in season. We expect guardian parents to allow the dog to be apart of the family. We look for people who are experienced dog owners but will consider first time dog owners if you work closely with us.

Families that are interested in breeding dogs are not good guardian families. we are placing dogs in their permanent family home, not a breeding home. We do not split liters with guardian parents. This is not a program for someone who wishes to become a breeder.
